Arnaud J. Tournier

About

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Imperial College London, UK, affiliated with the Electrical and Electronic Engineering department. My current research focuses on meta-learning, deep learning, synthetic head-related transfer functions, and spatial audio more generally. With my background in machine learning, mathematics, and engineering, I study the future of immersive audio, particularly for AR and VR consumer applications.

I currently work with the Neural Recknoning Group led by Dr. Dan Goodman, and the Audio Experience Design group led by Dr. Lorenzo Piciani. My research is funded by SONICOM, a European H2020 FET Proactive research project.

I completed my PhD at the end of 2021 at Imperial College London, UK. I was affiliated with the Data Science Institute and the Department of Computing, working in the Computational Privacy Group under the supervision of Dr. Yves-Alexandre de Montjoye. During my PhD, my research aimed at understanding the social impact of machine learning and large-scale human data. I designed contrastive models for behavioral data re-identification and adversarial attacks against pricing algorihtms in online markets.

During my PhD, I was also a Teacher Assistant for the machine learning courses at Imperial College, and supervised student projects in Identification Learning. I previously studied Stochastics and Machine Learning at UPMC (M.Sc. Mathematics, Paris VI, France), Pure Mathematics at Paris-Sud (M.Sc. Mathematics, Paris XI, France), and Engineering at Ecole Centrale Paris (Diplome d’Ingenieur ECP2017, Grandes Ecoles, France).
